Eco Kettle
I have a cheap little kettle I've used for a while now And I think its a better value than yours. I take the cup I'm using and fill it with water and pour it into the kettle and heat only what I'll use. No worry about recycling my present appliance and no waste heating water I won't use. I just don't think spending lots of money on new fangled gizmos because their 'eco friendly' is necessary. Just my opinion.

>> Sumi Das: Hello and welcome to "Sumi Smart Picks". I'm Sumi Das, and each week I'll tell you about a clever product that in one way or another helps us live cleaner, greener lives. My pick this week, the Eco Kettle. This is an electric kettle. What makes it eco friendly? It will help you save water. Here's how it works. It has two chambers inside this electric kettle. You open it up and fill the main chamber. I've actually already done that. You'll see here that we have about 1,400 ml's in the kettle already. Then when 4:00 rolls around, and you're ready for your afternoon cup of tea, all you have to do is push on this knob here, and it will allow water to flow into a second chamber. So let's say I wanted to make two cups of tea. So that's about 500 milliliters. This way, you only boil exactly the amount of water that you need. Then all you have to do is hit the boil button here. If you don't want your water boiling, there's also an 80 degree or a 90 degree option. This is perfect for people like my mother. She comes over to my house, boils an entire kettle full of water for one, maybe two cups of tea. It drives me bonkers. The only drawback, it's not yet available in the U.S., but the manufacturers tell us they're working on it. So consider this a sneak peek. That's my pick for this week. The Eco Kettle. Check back next week for more.
