>> Hello, and welcome to Sumi's Smart Picks. I'm Sumi Das, and week I'll tell you about one clever product that in some way helps us live cleaner, greener lives. This week it's the Bobble. Here's a new one, and here's my own personal Bobble. Now we all know how expensive it can be to buy bottled water. And we also know the toll that the plastic takes on the planet. And that's why I vote Bobble. More than just a refillable water bottle, it has a built-in filter, which means that you can think of it as your own portable, personal serving size Britta. The filter is good for 300 fills, or two months of use, and you can replace just the filter. You don't have to toss out the entire bottle. So now what don't I like about the Bobble. Well, because I have mild OCD, I'm not crazy about the idea of having to open the top with my hands. What if I haven't washed my hands recently? And I figure it can't be good to pull it open with my teeth like that, I'm sure my dentist wouldn't be happy. Then the other thing is that the makers of the Bobble say that you can soak this in hot water every once in a while, and it's good for the filter. But I wish there was a way to more thoroughly clean the top of it. Finally, there is this noise that it makes after you take a sip. That air sucking vacuum noise, it bothers some people, but I have learned to deal. My Smart Pick of the week, the Bobble. Check back next week for more.
