Sumi Das: Hello, and welcome to Sumi's Smart Picks. I'm Sumi Das. And this week, I'll tell you about a clever and fun product that is perfect for summer. It's the HotPot Barbecue from Black & Blum. And this is really a twoforone. It's both a planter and a barbecue. The maker suggests planting herbs up here, but we opted for some colorful flowers instead. The best part of the HotPot, its size. Even if you live in the teeniest, tiniest of studio apartments with just a fire escape, you can still grill for the Fourth of July. So you're probably wondering, where's the barbecue? Lift up the planter, use the tongs that are stashed below to remove the grate, and you'll see there's charcoal inside there. There are a couple of drawbacks to the HotPot. There's no drainage for the planter, which may not be so good for the herbs and the flowers. And you'll probably notice that this is not the largest of grills. It's pretty tiny. So you're not going to be able to feed an entire army, of course. But maybe you and two or three of your closest friends. That's my pick for this week, the HotPot from Black & Blum. Check back next week for more.
