Paper or plastic? Both take a toll on the environment, so why not go BYOB (bring your own bag) to the grocery store? SmartPlanet correspondent Sumi Das shows us a greener way to bag your produce.

Flip & Tumble Produce Bags
My husband and I have been doing the BYOB thing for a good many years. Many people have asked why we are doing that and always agree that it's environmentally friendly. But I've yet to see anyone else shopping with their own bags. How come?

I have quite a bit of fun sewing and decorating our bags. It's easy and fast, plus no one else in the stores will ever have one just like ours!

I've been recycling those plastic shopping bags after I get them at the supermarket or reusing the cloth bags that some department stores make available for a nominal price. I also have reusable produce bags that I found at a supermarket.

Reuse those bags and save planet Earth!
