How is it better? I know a lot of boaters and anyone who suggested
replacing part of their boat with recycled bottles would get laughed
off the dock as an environmental idiot. Its got to work better or its
simply a waste of time.

Sound doesn't work for me either. Just get the SmartPlanet intro and out music, but the Plastiki video is absolutely silent.

The video would be a lot more interesting with sound. You can't watch the video because your busy trying to get sound.

To me, the boat looks like it has plastic bottles as mostly ornaments and perhaps for a little buyoancy. Other than that, they have no structural purpose. I want to see a boat that is made, fundamentally by weight, from recycled materials, whether plastic bottles or something else.
