MIT folds solar cell into paper airplane
July 14, 2011 | Length: 00:00:53
Researchers at MIT have developed a way to "print" solar cells on paper and fabric. The process takes place in a vacuum chamber and is similar what's used to make potato chip bags. The solar cells are folded to test their robustness and demonstrate they can survive the stress.

I Have the Solution to be gas indepedentent
i remember i discussing the possibility of creating an electric car back then,
my idea some how was stolen and someone else took credit for it,
well i have another idea and this will end the need for gas to operate the vehicle.
but i this time i am not going to make the same mistake i did in the past,
i will share my idea ONLY if some one is willing to pay for it
and willing to share the profits.
bye bye oil vampires if this becomes a reality your days are number.

>> The layers that you see give rise to the different colors of the cell. They don't all overlap. And you'll see that the cell works in air and also that it can be folded. Right now it's being folded by a graduate student in chemical engineering, Miles Clark Bar, into a paper airplane. Once its been folded, Miles will attach normal alligator clips to the electrodes of the solar cell. And you'll see in the background a meter which indicates the current, that's the output of the cell. As Miles raises a flashlight above the cell, you'll see that the current goes up. And when the light is removed, the current goes down demonstrating the actual viability of this ultra-lightweight solar cell.
