Meet the inventor of Revolights

November 30, 2011  |  Length: 00:02:29

In his Silicon Valley apartment, inventor Kent Frankovich is trying to make cycling safer--with a spin on the good old-fashioned bike reflector. Frankovich has developed a design that makes it easier for bike riders to see and be seen by essentially mounting LED lights onto the wheels of the vehicle. SmartPlanet catches up with Frankovich to look at his invention that is still in development.

Why Don't Your Video's Play?
I have Adobe Flash installed but your video's never play. Any ideas why? Adobe says:
"You have version 11,1,102,55 installed"

Bike lights
Why doesn't some inventor come up with a gyro-generated light with an on/off switch that uses LED bulbs?Surely,I am not the only one to think about this???

I want them now
With the exception of needing batteries (I think the turning of the wheel should somehow generate the current to power the system), I think it's brilliant. I want them ASAP. This invention will save countless lives.

Interesting, but not a market advantage
its another deLoreon. In that its a nice idea but i don't think it has real market advantage - at least not at this time.

revolights
Love the idea. Easy to see that it focuses light on the pavement better than conventional lights. The issue about reflection is moot, as many night riders use battery powered seat stem and handlebar lights. I would ensure that the revolights are water-proof - if they aren't already. Also to make them a bit more aerodynamic could be a good marketing tactic.

Bike Lights
The invention is really cool! Congrats can't wait to see them in product for everyone. The one thing to work on next is figure out a way to get right of the batteries. One thing to look at is npower by tremont electric, scalable power. Good article Thanks
