Sumi Das: Hello and welcome to Sumi Smart Picks. I'm Sumi Das and each week, I'll tell you about a clever new product that in one way or another, helps makes our lives a little easier. My pick this week, the BungeeAir Power from Kensington, which includes this wireless security tether and this iPhone case. Forgetting your phone or running out of juice are two terrifying scenarios for any Smart Phone owner. The BungeeAir Power tries to eliminate both of those fears. Each time the fob and the phone are separated beyond a specified distance, say 50 or 75 feet, an alarm is triggered and your phone automatically locks. Running low on juice? Press this button on the back of the device for three seconds to charge your phone's battery using the battery that's built into this case. You'll notice here that the phone is now charging. This device works kind of like a key finder. Once you've downloaded the free app and put your phone in the case, you'll always be able to find the phone if you have your fob and vice versa. So if you have your fob and you've lost your phone, you're going to hit this button, the find phone button right on the fob and it will start to chirp. Tap the screen to stop the alert and if you've lost your fob, and presumably your keys as well, you can go to the app on your phone, hit find my fob and this will start to vibrate and chirp as well. Turn it off by hitting that button. Unlike other GPS tracking tools like Find My iPhone, the BungeeAir won't tell you exactly where your phone is when it's lost. Instead, it alerts you when you've left your phone behind, which basically prevents you from being separated from your phone for very long. It's much easier to track down a phone when you know it's in the room or the car you've just left, just as long as it wasn't a taxicab. I will say that it's a bit pricey at $80 and the case itself is on the larger side, which you can tell when I compare it to a traditional iPhone case. But it offers you an extra four hours of talk time which can be a life saver. If you tend to be forgetful with your phone, this could save you a lot of time.
