Making EV's noisy?
Great - what a concept! Just what we need in a noisy city - more noise! Why not a proximity sensor, so the crummy things only make noise when necessary?

Making EVs noisy
I totally agree. I wouldn't buy one unless I could disable it. Maybe it is necessary in crowded busy neighborhoods but in an area where you are driving 30mph or more, it should disable itself.

I can't wait, but...
I can't wait to not having to stop at the pump but the math does not make sense at all yet. I would love driving a Chevy Volt but it is still way more expensive than driving a Toyota Prius and paying for energy in advance is not so appealing to me because that's what it comes to between a Prius and a Volt. When gas cost upward 6 or $7 per gallon and the Volt (or others) cost $20,000 less than it's current price tag then we can discuss again. Right now, unless one can afford to make a statement, it is more economical to stop at the pump.
