Diapers that bypass landfills

November 29, 2011  |  Length: 00:01:49

Six to ten diapers a day. That's how many times a baby usually needs to be changed. It all adds up and then ENDS up in our landfills. SmartPlanet's Sumi Das checks out gDiapers, an eco-friendlier option.

Diapers that bypass landfills
What will they think of next! Imagine, a cloth diaper that can be washed. Amazing. The disposables should be outlawed.

yeah, anything new is a long forgoten old. BUT
cloth diapers are not much greener then disposable, when you take into account
howmuch watter and energy you need to wash them
add the soap and intibacterial agents (chlorox) you need to the mix and all your green benefits are out of the windows just like that.
add this to water processing after the fact etc.
ther were several studdies on this and outlook is not very promissing.
you might just as well use dispossables.

you should not compost dirty diapers
Anyone who understands composting will warn you not to put human fecal matter into a compost pile.
