Wind energy involves the use of wind turbines to convert kinetic energy into mechanical energy that is used to produce electricity. Turbines can be used for applications large and small, from battery charging and auxiliary power to grid-connected "farms" for commercial electric power.
There's enough of it to power the world 100 times over, a new study finds. But be careful - if you tap too much, you could trigger climate change. Ah, the power of irony.
