This is one of the greatest scams ever perpetrated on the buying public. Although superficially greener than standard petrol cars, its CO2 stats take no account of the extra energy taken to build the batteries and associated hybrid paraphrenalia, or the nasty environmental consequences of disposing of them. It's an outrage that fools buy this mobile piece of marketing hype; what they don't tell you is that the most environmentally friendly car is a used car - because it's already been made and the next owner is effectively recycling it. I think someone should do an environmental audit on the energy taken to MAKE cars, not simply what pollutants they emit. This is really where car makers/owners/reviewers purporting to be be 'green' show themselves as charlatans, utterly unaware of the big picture. If you want to save the planet, buy an old car and run it in to the ground, maintain it on used parts (where possible) from existing cars (i.e. from breakers' yards). Don't be hoodwinking yourself this is green.
