We like:

That it charges AAs; the low price

We don't like:

The slow charging; plasticky build; that it comes with so few power adaptors; that you can't charge via USB

The Scotty Pro is an excellent alternative to a traditional AA battery charger if you're not in any hurry at all. But as a travel device, its usefulness is limited by the lack of a mains adaptor, a meagre range of power tips and questionable build quality.

This old skool solar charger combines a small solar panel (250mA) with a charger for AA or AAA batteries. You plug the panel into the charging unit and around four hours later you can simply slip the AA batteries into whatever gadget can take them. Continue reading...
