Strattons Hotel and Restaurant Review

We like:

The artistic, exotic and very comfortable rooms; the excellent food; the ten per cent discount if you arrive by public transport

We don't like:

The price; that most attractions worth a visit aren't within walking distance; that it could be doing a bit more to be green

SmartPlanet judgement:

Strattons sets the standard for eco-friendly boutique hotels, with its local, organic food and good environmental policies. Staff go through 'energy-reduction training' and urge guests to do little things that make a big difference, like use less water when brushing teeth. It was comfortable and nicely tucked away, but it could probably do with a few more green improvements.

The owners of Strattons met at art school and have transformed this Grade II listed building into a stylish country hotel that's a swirl of colour that shows off their aesthetic minds. Continue reading...
