As a keen Organic foody I was looking forward to a meal with my wife at the Acorn House, but things didn't go to plan.
I ordered the pork belly which was a good size, but was 90% fat. I complained and sent it back, and then waited for a replacement. This took about 25 mins to come out of the kitchen by which time my wife had finished her food. This meant that the meal was partly spoiled because we spent a large part of the meal watching one another eat.
I wouldn't have minded so much but there was not offer of compensation or act of atonement. No free wine, no knock 10% off the bill, no free dessert, no nothing.
The food was good enough, but the lack of compensation left a bitter taste in my mouth.
