What you need to know: Ecozone Ecoballs

Tags: greenwashing
We like:
Their green credentials, performance and durability; the incitement to wash at low temperatures
We don't like:
Having to remember to take them out of the washing machine straight away; the lack of easily accessible detailed information about the pellets and the company in general
SmartPlanet judgement:
A very smart product that simply brings green science down to earth and into our washing machines -- miraculously cleaning our clothes at low temperatures and at a minuscule cost to the environment. We have tried very hard to get hold of Ecozone, the company behind Ecoballs, to find out the specifics but with no luck, which really annoys us. We're suckers for transparency and that's not something we've seen a lot of here.

Patently Obvious Rosemary and Lavender Hand Wash
It's a good hand wash with a green twist and great mainstream appeal
Nutshell Super Eco Emulsion Paint
It's a local hero for careful painters, but not the best choice for rough-and-tumble houses
Patently Obvious Raspberry & Pomegranate Hand Wash
This is a 'natural' handwash in recycled packaging by new eco cleaning kid on the block, Patently Obvious
Farrow & Ball All White Estate Emulsion Paint
Containing VOCs, this paint is more eco-inclined than truly eco-friendly, and is expensive to boot
Auro 321 White Emulsion Paint
This naturally white, fragrant paint adds a touch of aromatherapy to your DIY
