What you need to know: Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies H-Racer
We like:
Making our own hydrogen; the fact it's fun and educational; the design
We don't like:
That it trundles instead of speeds; that most kids will get bored after the tenth charging session
SmartPlanet judgement:
While it's not made from eco materials and won't exactly help your nation meet its CO2-cutting Kyoto target, we love the inspiration this toy car sparks. Talking about theoretical hydrogen futures is one thing, but owning a mini hydrogen power station is entirely different -- and far more engaging. Our only quibble is that kids will probably tire of it after a few weeks, so be prepared to pass it on via mates or Freecycle.
