The dense, rich, super-silky texture; crunchy chunks of fun; B&J's various caring projects

We don't like:

The super-sweet aftertaste; animal testign by parent company Unilever

All Ben & Jerry's flavours share certain ethical and eco attributes, from the ingredients to the packaging and freezers used. Fairtrade ingredients add an extra frisson to Vanilla Toffee Crunch, and if you like the classic B&J flavours, you'll like this.

Ben & Jerry's flavour calling card is their bland, creamy, luxuriously textured vanilla. It's dense and sweet, barely whipped, and leaves a creamy kiss on the lips. The ice cream duo's second Fairtrade flavour is a chunked-up vanilla, and the chocolate-covered toffee pieces add a bit of crunchy interest. We found ourselves burrowing to the bottom of the tub, leading to feelings of guilt and an extreme sugar rush; it's very sweet stuff. Continue reading...
