We love our certifications and can only appreciate that this Clipper coffee carries both an organic and the Fairtrade approval. However, we're not that impressed with the flavour or the price and would have liked to know more about what goes on behind the certifications.

UK's Fairtrade tea pioneer, Clipper, now also sells Fairtrade drinking chocolates and coffees, and while we generally like Clipper's products, this particular coffee didn't make a massive impression. We think it's an average, strong, non-acidic espresso coffee, which coffee expert James Hoffman described as "inoffensive" in our blind coffee tasting. We do think it's just about worth its £3 for 227g considering it's both certified Fairtrade and organic, but we wouldn't pay more than that for it. Continue reading...
