Attractive rates are offered to anyone wanting to store or borrow money for an ecological project, which may be seen as high risk by more mainstream lenders. A lack of online access and a one per cent rate fall if you make more than one withdrawal in a year are less favourable features though. |
This is a very good insurance policy, and since it offsets gas-guzzlers' emissions, it's doing some good -- what it's doing is a green plus and the policy is sound, with competitive premiums. We do wonder about the parent company's green track record, however. |
We love smile's ethical stance -- there simply is no other internet bank that adheres to such upstanding principles. It's easy to use, has high level internet security and great customer service. It may not pay the highest interest rates, but it's not below average, and you can rest assured that your hard-earned buck isn't implicit in human rights abuses, the arms trade, or preventable ecological damage. Why oh why aren't there more banks like smile? |
Jupiter's Ecology fund is a nice, dark forest green -- meaning of course that it proactively invests in companies doing good things environmentally and ethically speaking, and it proactively avoids investing in companies that have a hand in murky water. The specific focus means it's suffered some losses, but it's been recovering and has a few extra years of experience under its belt to give it something to learn from. |
