Spiezia Lip Balm Review

The tin is the size and shape of a small Vaseline tin, but that's about as much as Spiezia's lip balm and Vaseline have in common.
Spiezia Organics is a small Cornish company that prides itself on making luxury, organic beauty products by hand. All the ingredients for each product are listed on Spiezia's website, where there is also more in-depth information about the individual oils, plants, herbs and the processes Spiezia uses when making the products. We really like this. All hail transparency.
Smearing it on our lips, it's great to feel 100 per cent confident this lip balm is made from the purest ingredients you can find -- a far cry from the petroleum jelly we've tortured our lips with before.
It smells lovely and it lasts for ages, which is just as well with its £8.75 price tag. When we first saw how much it was, we thought, "Almost nine pounds for a lip balm? It better be amazing!"
Now, this is a very good lip balm, there's no doubt about that. Contrary to other lip balms that seem to dry up the lips and make them dependent on the stuff, Spiezia's lip balm makes our lips soft and gives them a slight bee-sting plump feeling. And there is no need to reapply every other hour -- we find that a couple of times a day is enough to keep our lips moist.
Besides the Soil Association certification all Spiezia Organics' products sport the Vegan Society stamp too, which means that none of the ingredients (or the finished products for that matter) have been tested on animals.
But it isn't perfect. It's too oily and it feels like dust and dirt stick to it, both on lips and fingertips, which makes it less luxurious in our eyes. Luxurious or not, we would buy it for its amazing organic credentials and effectiveness, though.
