Lavera Volume Mascara looks natural and soft on your lashes, but unfortunately rubs off on its own by the end of the day
Typical price £8.89

If we were to choose just one beauty product to live with for the rest of our lives, it would be mascara. And there are many good reasons for choosing Lavera's Volume Mascara. Volume, however, isn't one of them. We want big, beautiful eyelashes when we go out -- some women want it every day -- and Lavera just doesn’t satisfy. Lavera advises us to apply twice to create more volume and make it stick to our eyelashes for longer. It works, but makes us late for the train in the morning.

Except for the volume issue, we are happy with Lavera's mascara. We like its organic ingredients, vegan credentials (no animal testing) and that it comes in an easily recyclable metal tube. In fact, as the Greed Dot logo indicates on the tube, Lavera invests in the actual factories and plants that would recycle this kind of metal tube, which is quite unusual and a plus indeed.

It's also quite nice to know that instead of destroying our lashes with strange chemical concoctions, they'll be nourished by the jojoba and wild rose oil. Another positive is that Lavera transparently provides information on all of its ingredients on its website.

When applied it looks incredibly natural and soft, which we like. And it's so easy to remove. We love being able to just wash normally at night without looking like a panda. It actually sometimes comes off itself come evening time. While we appreciate the fact we don't have to scrub with all sorts of products, we can imagine that some women would like to be confident their mascara will stay on as long as they want it to.

All in all, we have plenty of good reasons to choose Lavera's mascara as our one and only, but we're not sure women brought up on Maybelline and MAC are quite ready for it yet. If it just had a bit more va-va-voom they may be lining up soon.

It's a very good, honest sun lotion and we appreciate that -- we're excited about Weleda as a company, but not overly so about this particular product
