From SmartPlanet and Silicon.com, we're showing off some examples of incredible output from 3D printers - and this is just the tip of the iceberg. They're printing cars, planes, food and more. 3D printers are beginning to remind you of Star Trek replicators. Nick Heath of Silicon.com and SmartPlanet writers report.

Printers like this HP Designjet 3D device are already on the market. Many experts think gadgets like these could be the answer to a rebirth in U.S. manufacturing, says SmartPlanet's Joe McKendrick.

Autodesk's CTO Joe Kowalsky recently predicted that the cost of 3D printers will drop soon, making it possible to mass produce objects.
