Further along in the process, the Model S starts to look more like a car that's ready to be taken for a spin. The doors and the lid are removed for more work. The parts are put together in sub-stations, where the dashboard, seats, and steering wheel are assembled. We saw the beta test version of the new four-door sedan.

EVs vs Fossil Fuels
I believe EVs are the best idea to come down the pike in a long time. However, how much fossil fuels are used to charge them? Is this a hidden tradeoff in energy resources?

Its not just Fossil Fuels
The true benefit to electric is the vast ways we can create it.. and many of them are highly renewable or natural forms of energy. Such as Water, Wind, Thermal heat and solar. So if you have the funds/or equipment you can literally eliminate your fuel costs all together using any of these available resources and generate your own power. That is the main idea and benefit of using Electricity. Granted fossil fuels are used to generate electricity as well there are just alternatives to fossil fuels.
