So - when does concept become reality; what kind of mileage will it get - and how much will it break the bank to purchase it?

Hard to say.
They're still concept cars at this stage. But it's clear that BMW, in the long-term, wants to eventually replace its gasoline-powered series (3, 8, etc.) with electric models. But neither the market nor the technology are ready for that yet, so the company is releasing them as a separate brand. Expect a premium, but nothing exorbitant -- after all, a 3 series remains a 3 series.

Vanity toys for the idle wealthy...
It's wrong to limit Plug-in hybrid potential to reckless accelleration and high-speed. Routine driving is mostly a limited range at safe speeds whereby the plug-in hybrid battery pack can effectively triple fuel economy. Odd too are these urban-oriented mini-cars whose battery packs are 4x the capacity actually needed for travel needs that can be met without having to drive.

The media (and politicians) could earn needed respect by reporting this and other great deeds of courage, brotherhood and duty even now more than ten years after the fact and at a time when respect, courage and patriotism are needed as much or more than any other time in history. The same advertisers that brought us Seinfeld (lets play footsie and wiggle our shorts Bill), Laptop Hunters (that got all sorts of bad press for lies (incorrect pricing and customer never actually went into an Apple store) and portraying windows as "cheep"), And Windows 7 was Macs idea (where a college kid who can't get laid and get kicked out of his dorm room (by his Mac roommate) has to watch TV in the hall because he doesn't even have a friend whom he could visit). barbie oyunlari , mario oyunlari
