RE: Interactive TV builds literacy skills among low-income kids
I think there are lots of wonderful sites out there for kids with
video content that goes beyond the teacher and the chalk board.
Check out a new site; www. meetmeatthecorner.org.
A great site for kids ages 7-13 with a links to fun websites and a
Learning Corner with extended activities and questions. -

Know what also build literacy in children?
Reading. Too bad poor people are generally poor because they don't value education, and just sit around wallowing in self-pity.

RE: Interactive TV builds literacy skills among low-income kids
I have a degree in psychology and I was curious if Super Why episodes used LONG scenes or the repugnant half and one second clips. Even seen a commercial that never stops spewing clips? Sometimes the segments last .2 seconds for half of the commercials. This sort of editting is horrible for pre-schoolers.
So I used YouTube to watch some Super Why. I was pleased to see lots of scene changes where it's a continual stream, maybe 10 seconds long. The shortest scenes were 2 seconds, but fairly rare.
Congratulations!!!!!
