Combine your passion for making movies with your love of the environment and you could win £4,000 to make a film for Friends of the Earth. The green charity yesterday launched its one-minute film competition in a bid to find the best eco movie that lasts no longer than 60 seconds. Your work could get seen by Trainspotting producer Andrew MacDonald and Aardman's David Sproxton, who sit on the judging panel.
Last year a very good skit featuring Aussie polar bears (pictured) won the compo. The theme of 2008's contest is 'Which bit of the Earth are you a friend of?' Two awards will be doled out, one based on the public's favourite and one on the judge's opinion.
Closing date for entries is 29 August 2008, so it's probably time to hit up Shooting People for recruitment and shoot while the weather's good. Friends of the Earth has full details of how to enter the competition.
