The 'mobile' one-tonne solar generator

PowerCube
Tech News
Channels: Tech News Tags: solar, renewable energy

If you're unfortunate enough to have a job that requires charging 20 mobile phones simultaneously and on the go, then you may want to have a look at this -- or keep it away from your boss.

The PowerCube 600 is a portable generator that can churn out 600 watts of solar power. The eponymous company markets the cube as providing "quick-deploy" power remotely -- for home use, emergency response, construction or whenever you need remote power.

But 'portable' and 'quick-deploy' are relative notions in this case: this thing weighs nearly a tonne at about 910 kilos. So don't count on keeping it in the boot of your Prius -- it wouldn't fit anyway, at 183 x 315 x 127cm.
