Which solar technologies will survive?

Fong Wan, vice president of energy procurement at PG&E

Channels: Tech News, Business News Tags: solar

The ZDNet.com crew headed over to the Cleantech Forum in San Francisco and filmed moderator Todd Glass -- of law firm Heller Ehrman -- asking the speakers which solar technologies would make it over the next decade. From thin film to concentrated photovoltatics, which ones will make a difference in the green movement, and which are best-suited for cheaper prices and the real world?

Check out ZDNet.com's video of panelists Peter Duprey, CEO at Acciona; Ricardo Angel, senior vice president at GE Energy Financial Services; and Fong Wan, vice president of energy procurement at PG&E taking a stab at answering the question.

I've always thought, low csot consumer solar would be the turning point for solar.

Especially here in the SW USA.

Anything out there for the consumer yet?

It's a very good, honest sun lotion and we appreciate that -- we're excited about Weleda as a company, but not overly so about this particular product

Stylish and with good performance, this is a nice TV, especially at just over £400 -- but the high energy use is a turn off
