Prince Charles wants organics on hospital menus
Patron of the Soil Association and organic farmer himself, Prince Charles is keen to convince hospitals to serve organic, local food to their patients. At a visit to Royal Brompton Hospital in London he argued that it's possible to do within the NHS budget, too.
Low Emission Zone in London from today
Mayor of London Ken Livingstone just bagged himself an extra bunch of fans among environmentalists today and probably just as many enemies by launching the Low Emission Zone (LEZ). It means bus, coach and lorry operators will be charged a hefty £200 to drive into most of Greater London if their vehicles don't meet certain emissions criteria.
Biggest wind-turbine ever
It's not a lot of hot air -- two prototypes of the largest wind-turbines in the world have just been installed in Germany. The E-126 turbine made by Enercon got its name from its 126 metre diameter and can produce enough electricity to power 5,000 European homes.
Tesla's getting ready for the road
We're excited to hear that after much hoo-hah the Tesla 100 per cent electric sports car will be ready for punters to buy in March. Especially considering the company recently laid off a bunch of staff.

Good old Charlie, always ahead of the game, our local hospital is actually doing this already, but credit where it's due, and he supported real cork before it became a big conservation issue too.
