Guitars with a plastic body are pretty rare this side of Fisher Price. And ones made from recycled plastics are even rarer than rocking horse poo, but that hasn't stopped green UK instrument-maker Simon Lee. Read on for more details and photos of his range of Cyclotron Benton guitars, which have just gone on sale at Ethical Superstore.

You can pick up one of the guitars in a choice of six finishes, including this 'Espresso' finish (above), which is made from recycled vending machine coffee cups.

I think this is a great idea, a little on the expensive side though.
If they were a little cheaper I might buy one
Even my most expensive guitar was just slightly less in price.
But It is hand made to order and they are very cool, I think I might just
have to save up and get one!

It'd probably sound similar to a perspex guitar, doesn't resonate much but has massive sustain :-)

Here's an idea, why not use some completely natural product that doesn't require as much processing, and can be grown & regrown as a crop. Say, like wood?

doesn't really matter with the resonance as it's an ELECTRIC GUITAR shown there.

The guitars are freaking brilliant! I cannot play a guitar to save my life, but i do as hell appreciate the beautiful sounds that it makes.
But the funny thing is, Simon Lee lives a few roads behind my house! Now all i need to do is learn to play guitar!

I just saw,on the Ethical superstore website that these things cost 815 pounds!!! How is that ethical???!!! I was offered a second hand Gem77 for that! And I live in Amsterdam where everything is more expensive!!!!

Pinnacle Journey 1.0 2008
Cheap and cheerful -- the Journey hits the value bullseye. And doesn't end up a horrible compromise in doing so.
Mezzo d-10
Too costly, particularly compared to its d-9 sibling. But despite that, this is the state-of-the-art for folding bikes -- fast, light, practical.
Puma Glow Rider
The emperor's new bicycle -- all marketing and no trousers. Over-expensive, handles and folds poorly, doesn't glow well enough, and is stealable despite the weird cable-cum-downtube.
Weleda Edelweiss Sun Lotion SPF 15
It's a very good, honest sun lotion and we appreciate that -- we're excited about Weleda as a company, but not overly so about this particular product
LG 32LG5000
Stylish and with good performance, this is a nice TV, especially at just over £400 -- but the high energy use is a turn off
