On the road to green living with UK AWARE

The UK AWARE G-wiz show car

We're so excited about UK AWARE and its upcoming green show that we've teamed up with it as a media partner. The social enterprise is inviting everyone with or without a green inkling to join more than 100 sustainability experts at its first event, the LONDON AWARE 08 show, at the Barbican on 10 and 11 May.

With more than 100 exhibitors and around 40 speakers on board, all of whom are deeply involved in the green world, UK AWARE aims to give us all the opportunity to get the information we need to understand and act on climate change and to live sustainable lifestyles. We'll get a chance to talk to the experts, who've promised to speak in a language all us non-scientists can understand.

Daniel Carnegie, founder of UK AWARE, explains his raison d'etre for the event: "Climate change has rarely been out of the headlines in recent months, however, many people don't know or don't understand where they can make changes to reduce their environmental impact. For many, LONDON AWARE 08 will be a starting point offering them the inspiration and information that they need to live more sustainably, without sacrificing lifestyle or comfort."

In order to encourage the new generation of designers to create sustainable designs, UK AWARE is also inviting students to enter their bright green ideas for the Eco-Innovation Award, which will be presented by eccentric UK inventor Trevor Baylis.

We'll be there with the expected 12,000 visitors and will make sure you get the highlights in case you can't be there in person. And a note to Londoners -- keep your eyes peeled for the G-wiz show car, which will be driving around the city promoting the LONDON AWARE 08 event.
