Either we don't care enough about the environment to stop flying or we just want to see more of our planet before it vanishes. The fact of the matter is, except for a few devoted environmentalists, we've not really changed our travel and holiday habits despite knowing that we're jeopardising our existence by not cutting our carbon consumption.
A recent survey by independent media agency, BLM, suggests that a third of us are not prepared to fork out more on a holiday in order to offset it. The poll of 2,500 Britons also showed that we definitely don't want to spend our days off in the UK. A staggering 59 per cent of holidaymakers are not willing to cut down on holidays abroad to save the environment.
The Scottish seem to be the most desperate for some sunshine abroad, with 74 per cent saying they would not cut down on holidays overseas. People from the West Midlands were described as the most environmentally friendly with 37 per cent happy to have fewer holidays outside the UK. 37 per cent -- there's a long way to go. And not by plane.
Chris Armond from BLM comments on the findings: "The green message is not getting through to holidaymakers who appear to value their vacations more than the environment."

No offense but we've got alot smaller country than people in the states, getting to France, Spain or Italy is not really a major deal. Our summers usually suck over here too so its hardly surprising we want to get away
