The fourth annual Be The Change conference is being held in London this month, with the theme 'The Sky's The Limit'. The event will focus on solutions to climate change and human rights issues, and is being dedicated to The Body Shop founder, Anita Roddick.
"In an age of looming climate chaos and chronic social injustice, it's time to set a new course," claims the conference website. "Join with some of the best thinkers and doers on the planet for three days discussing and designing the changes we all want to see in the world."
Speakers at this year's event include Nicky Gavron (deputy mayor of London), Bianca Jagger, George Monbiot, Jonathon Porritt (chairman of the UK Sustainable Development Commission) and Richard Reed (co-founder of Innocent Drinks).
As well as talks, there will be a movie premiere of the documentary, Dalai Lama Renaissance, which won the Best Documentary Film award at the 2007 Moondance film festival, and a live performance by the Waterboys.
Individual tickets for the whole three days are £250, while day tickets are £90. Thanks to an anonymous donor, there are now 200 bursary tickets available for those under 25 inviting them to 'pay what they can' to attend the three-day conference. Concessionary tickets are also on offer for the unemployed, those working for an NGO/charity and pensioners, as well as some free tickets for schoolchildren. Groups of three or more are eligible for half-price tickets, so going with friends will be much cheaper.
The event will take place on 15-17 November, at the Central Hall in Westminster.
