Video: cooking on a gas hob, the green way

Household News
Channels: Household News Tags: cooking, gas

In this Smart Tips video, Rikke demonstrates the best way to cook on a gas hob in order to save energy. She reminds us that cooking on a large burner at low heat is worse in terms of energy consumption than cooking on a small hob at high heat. Her other recommendation is not to turn the gas up so high that the flame goes yellow -- keep it at blue, and everyone will be happy.

Also keep mum's old advice in mind and remember to put a lid on your sauce pans to save energy. Alternatively, you could always become a raw foodist and cut out your cooker altogether.
