New Ecover products clean cars, too

Ecover moves into the car market
Transport News Household News
Channels: Transport News, Household News Tags: cleaning product, ecodriving

This one slipped by me -- hey, I don't have a car -- but green cleaning brand Ecover has launched two products for looking after your car.

Ecover Car Wash and Wax is exactly what it says it is. Just three drops in a bucket of water will clean a Polo BlueMotion, Prius or even a Hummer (maybe you'd need two buckets of water for that beast), and it'll save you having to wax your pride and joy, too. If it's anything like Ecover's washing up liquid then don't expect many bubbles -- but it'll still get the job done.

Alongside that, Ecover's also launched Car Glass and Interior Cleaner, which promises a smear-free shine to your rear-view mirror. It's nice to see a successful, ecologically friendly company diversifying into other areas, especially since green options in the car-care market are extremely limited. Surely Ecover will do a car air freshener next?

Check out Ecover's website for stockists.

Two buckets of water thats alot why not try waterless car cleaning products instead, they use no water and you can find plant based ones on the market.Essential Trading has also pulled off alot of Ecover's products from their catalogue because of certain ingredients they use that aren't that Eco-Friendly.

Essential Trading currently displays 41 Ecover products so the above comment would appear incorrect in that regard at least...

The source of the statement can be obtained at the Ecover's website at the following web page: http://ecover.reference.be/gb/en/enzymes.htm. Essential Trading met with Ecover to discuss the statement on the use of genetic modified micro-organism in the production of enzymes used in some of their products. Following the meeting Essential Trading made the decision to stop selling!'these products, as they did not comply with our non-GMO policy. The Ecover products contain;" the enzymes are dishwasher tablets, biological washing powder, laundry tablets, and stain remover. Essential Trading will endeavour to list non-GMO alternatives for these products *Essential trading catalogue . Perhaps alot is an over statement!

The statement is not on the page quoted above. What is on that page, which is worth a look, includes:

"The values of Ecover are not part of a tag line or a marketing campaign, but integrated into every aspect of this company. We are not a flawless operation, and we firmly believe that what we achieve today is not good enough for tomorrow, so we are constantly striving to improve. Whilst respecting the opinions of others, we have held fast to our principles for the past 27 years to get to where we are today."

I will stick with them, and not with you... JerryW

I highly recommend the Maison Belle line of eco-friendly cleaning products from Isabella Smith Apothecary of Denmark. No bleach, no ammonia, no phosphates and smells amazing!! Cleans really well!!

Pinnacle Journey 1.0 2008
Cheap and cheerful -- the Journey hits the value bullseye. And doesn't end up a horrible compromise in doing so.
Mezzo d-10
Too costly, particularly compared to its d-9 sibling. But despite that, this is the state-of-the-art for folding bikes -- fast, light, practical.
Puma Glow Rider
The emperor's new bicycle -- all marketing and no trousers. Over-expensive, handles and folds poorly, doesn't glow well enough, and is stealable despite the weird cable-cum-downtube.
Weleda Edelweiss Sun Lotion SPF 15
It's a very good, honest sun lotion and we appreciate that -- we're excited about Weleda as a company, but not overly so about this particular product
LG 32LG5000
Stylish and with good performance, this is a nice TV, especially at just over £400 -- but the high energy use is a turn off
