Envelope Angel labels

Nobody writes letters these days -- it's all text messaging and email, but that doesn't mean we don't all still receive a bunch of envelopes every day: bills, bill reminders, final warnings and so on. A design company called Blue Marmalade has created Envelope Angels -- labels to put on your old envelopes -- to put an end to this waste.

The sticky labels let you cover up the address field on a used envelope so that you can use it again. Normal labels could do this just as well, but Envelope Angel boxes are made from recycled material and each sticker bears a little environmental message to encourage others, and so that you don't look like a cheapskate.

"The Envelope Angel is your opportunity to tell the people you are writing to that you put environmental consideration into everything that you do," says Oliver Heath, co-founder of EcoCentric, which stocks Envelope Angels.

What's more, Envelope Angels are designed and made in Britain -- hurrah for the smaller carbon footprint. They're available in boxes of 100 labels for £4.50 from the EcoCentric website.

I've got similar sticky labels from Ecotopia, which are great...have only had positive comments from friends and family who've received their birthday presents in recycled and re-labelled jiffy bags.
