Sure you can recycle plastic at the depot, but why settle for that when you can turn it into a funky woven chair? That's what the folks at Cohda have done with their RD4 (Roughly Drawn Chair) made in the UK out of 100 per cent domestic plastic waste.
Considering this sort of discarded packaging makes up 50 per cent of the UK's plastic waste, making it into something useful -- rather than sending it to landfill -- is always welcome. But what's the chair like to use? We find out if the RD4's sitting pretty (or sitting pretty uncomfortably) in our hands-on video review.
You can find more about Cohda's chairs online, they're priced at £325 and available in a variety of colours including green (and bright green), orange, blue, red, black and purple.

Nice video. I know they make things like fence posts and garden furniture out of plastic waste but it's nice to see it being put to a more creative use. Although how you take advantage of the static build-up I don't know. Again my only reservation is the price! But it is handmade and in that sense compares well to non-eco friendly designer chairs.
