The down-to-earth people at The Soil Association made sure those doing good green things didn't go unrecognised last night, announcing the winners of the 12th Soil Association Organic Awards at The Natural and Organic Products Annual Industry Awards in London.

With a record number of entries this year, it's obvious the organic industry is now big news. Eight awards were presented in total for a number of different products and services across the industry. With some more familiar names than others, it's encouraging to see the little green people being rewarded for their efforts, too -- and not just the big green giants.

Awards presenter Lucy Siegle, who writes The Observer's weekly ethical column, said the range of established companies such as Abel & Cole and new businesses like Growing with Grace, "demonstrates how secure the organic movement is". It's great news for us folk who look for the greener, more ethical option.

Organics may not be the mainstream diet of many, but at least now there's more choice of good quality products that are better for the environment. Check out the list of winners below:

Best Organic Restaurant: The Duke of Cambridge

Best Organic Textile Product: Beaumont Organic

Best Organic Babycare Product: Eselle Organics Baby Bottom Balm

Best Organic Facial Skincare Product: Neal's Yard Remedies White Tea Enriching Facial Mask

Best Organic Bodycare product: Origins Body Pampering Massage Oil

Winner of the Soil Association Best Small Shop: Growing With Grace

Winner of the Soil Association Best Large Shop: Infinity Foods Shop & Bakery

Winner of the Soil Association Best Internet/Delivery Service: Abel & Cole

Weleda Edelweiss Sun Lotion SPF 15
It's a very good, honest sun lotion and we appreciate that -- we're excited about Weleda as a company, but not overly so about this particular product
LG 32LG5000
Stylish and with good performance, this is a nice TV, especially at just over £400 -- but the high energy use is a turn off
Brompton M3L Folding Bike
This British-made folding bike has small wheels but goes for big money -- and is built for practicality
Dahon Jack 2008 Folding Bike
Bigger wheels do mean better speed and stability -- but a bigger, more awkward folded form, too
Sony Bravia KDL-32V2000
You won't find a better TV for picture in its class, but you will find ones with superior green credentials
