In the new BBC Two series, Long Way Down, Ewan McGregor and his friend Charley Boorman ride their motorbikes from Scotland to South Africa. Along the way they get involved in hair-raising, near-fatal motorcycle 'stunts', exciting encounters with locals and some serious coffee guzzling.
Having travelled through Europe and half of Africa, the two bikers stop at the Gumutindo Coffee Cooperative in Uganda, which supplies Cafédirect with Fairtrade coffee beans. Here they talk to the coffee growers about Fairtrade and learn how to slurp and spit -- the art of 'cupping', as coffee tasting is known by the connoisseurs.
Ewan and Charley said: "We are learning so much on Long Way Down and what we come across on the way. Our visit to the Gumutindo Cooperative has shown us the positive impact that Fairtrade companies like Cafédirect are having on growers' lives. We won't look at our cappuccinos in the same way again!"

The Long Way Down series will be shown on BBC Two and Fox TV starting 28 October.
