Stella McCartney makes organic lingerie

Stella McCartney's organic lingerie
Fashion News
Channels: Fashion News Tags: organic cotton

We've seen Stella McCartney's organic underwear and it's the epitome of pure luxury. In the top fashion designer's new -- and first-ever -- lingerie collection, one of the 13 sets is made from organic cotton (above) and we think it proves once and for all that organic underwear isn't only for hippies.

The Daisy Dreaming set, as the organic lingerie is called, has a hand-stitched effect, silk trim and includes both triangle and under-wire bras. Bottoms are available in bikini, boy-leg or thong, so there are plenty of combination options. The other sets are made from materials like chiffons and silks. Of course it would have been great if they were all eco-friendly, but we do appreciate that the collection has something for every taste, and at the moment it wouldn't be possible to get all those different materials in a green version.

Apparently Stella McCartney has a soft spot for lingerie, appreciating the intimacy a woman has with the delicate fabrics. Her beautiful designs combined with her outspokenness on animal welfare and green issues will please the most green and ethical fashionistas, and will definitely make them want to get intimate with her organic cotton. It makes us want to, at least.

Stella McCartney's lingerie section is available at Harvey Nichols, Liberty and Selfridges at around £75 for a soft-cup bra and £40-£60 for briefs.

Origins Organics Nourishing Face Lotion
We like how it makes our face feel smooth, but we don't like how strongly it smells -- and while the organic ingredients are incredibly attractive the price tag isn't
Patently Obvious Rosemary and Lavender Hand Wash
It's a good hand wash with a green twist and great mainstream appeal
Nutshell Super Eco Emulsion Paint
It's a local hero for careful painters, but not the best choice for rough-and-tumble houses
Patently Obvious Raspberry & Pomegranate Hand Wash
This is a 'natural' handwash in recycled packaging by new eco cleaning kid on the block, Patently Obvious
Farrow & Ball All White Estate Emulsion Paint
Containing VOCs, this paint is more eco-inclined than truly eco-friendly, and is expensive to boot
