Green your Christmas: lingerie

Environmentally friendly lingerie from Enamore

So you want to buy your girlfriend/wife lingerie for Christmas, but are worried about getting the size wrong? We do understand. While we would be pretty cross if our boyfriends gave us a completely over-sized (or under-sized) bra or pair of knickers, we would forgive him and still appreciate the thoughtfulness -- especially if it's cute or sexy ethical underwear that we can swap to the right size.

Enamore's Peek a Boo lingerie (see main picture) is a winner. What lady could resist the feminine, environmentally friendly, UK-made, 60 per cent hemp and 40 per cent silk underwear? The Peek a Boo range starts at a rather pricey £81 and is available from Enamore's online shop.

Green Knickers (pictured below) has something for everyone, from silky hemp knickers to colourful 100 per cent organic and Fairtrade seasonal pants for girls who are fed up with frills. We haven't tried Green Knickers' new bamboo undies, but they are allegedly soft as cashmere and super-sustainable. All 'Green Knickers' come in a lovely, recycled and Fairtrade gift box, saving you wrapping paper, too. Green Knickers cost between £15 and £25 and are available online

We discovered pretty Luva Huva underwear (pictured below) in the autumn and are really excited about being able to get sustainable, yet inexpensive, girlie knickers and bikini bras. All of them are made from silk and cotton that would otherwise have gone to landfill and best of all, every piece is handmade and unique. Knickers costs £8 directly from Luva Huva.
