Just because you're green doesn't mean you have to dress like a hippy. Our resident eco-fashionista Rikke Brunste-Dahl kicks off SmartPlanet's How Ethical is Your Wardrobe? series by scrutinising guinea pig Kate, whose threads are mainly UK high street, and then selecting an equally fashionable but sweatshop-free alternative outfit for her.
Kate learned a few things in the 'examination' -- such as discovering her Urban Outfitters cardigan, which is 70 per cent acrylic and 30 per cent wool, didn't guarantee its wool came from happy sheep.
Not to worry, though, because Rikke found her some trendy eco-options for everything from her t-shirt to boots at places like People Tree, Edun, Terra Plana and more.
If you'd like to get a green and ethical makeover for your wardrobe, drop us an email at green AT smartplanet DOT COM. We're looking for people for all shapes, sizes and styles -- but you will need to be able to travel to our London-based studio for filming.
