Win! Tickets to the British International Motor Show, and maybe even a car
The future of greener motoring will be on display at the British International Motor Show from 23 July to 3 August 2008, alongside demonstrations of how drivers can cut vehicle emissions and lower running costs. We're going to go along to check out the hot green wheels, and we think you should to -- which is why we're giving away ten pairs of tickets to the show, worth £200.
Organisers of have partnered with The Co-operative Insurance and the Department for Transport's ACT ON CO2 campaign to create The Co-operative Insurance Greener Driving Pavilion. It's a first for the motor show, and will feature interactive displays, vehicle cutaways and simulators. A range of exciting new environmental automotive technologies will also be showcased, including fuel cells, electric vehicles and hybrids.
In the Pavilion, drivers can learn about simple ways they can make a difference to the environment and their bank balance while driving. We're curious to see if they'll have anything to add to the tips we've already rounded up. Folks looking for further guidance on purchasing a fuel-efficient car and driving it in a more efficient way can visit the ACT ONCO2 site.
The Co-operative Insurance Greener Driving Pavilion in association with ACT ON CO2 is also supported by the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP), What Car? magazine and Michelin, which will demonstrate the benefits of its latest low-rolling resistance tyres.
The most exciting part of the motor show is that visitors could be in for a chance of winning a new Mazda2 supermini (pictured above), courtesy of The Co-operative Insurance. The Mazda2 is one of the greenest, most fuel-efficient cars in its class, helped by being a whopping 100kg lighter than its predecessor.
