The recoil issue was addressed during R&D and is one of the points in their patents.

R&D all they want. Perhaps they can ameliorate by extending the time of recoil a very small amount, but you can't break the laws of physics by That much with such a small mass gun.

You have no way of knowing that
You have no idea how many times a person was protected from home invasion or other forms of attack simply because the gun is there or the possibility exists in the mind of a would be attacker that a gun is there.
Many confrontations with a gun do not result in the gun being fired and would not show up on a statistic.

The two of you are viewing the problem from different paradigms. The first comment describes the futility of weapon manufacture and purchase and calls for a need to establish a utopia where people refrain from resorting to violence.
The second comment is a more realistic argument where the person presupposes that there's just no way of realizing the utopia and presents a rational man's argument of one being able to defend oneself from a barbaric.
The latter comments are rhetorical arguments. When a debate ceases to be based on principle based arguments, it usually results in fights where rationality is overshadowed by a need for gratification of having made the opponent bow down to your view

Since it's nearly impossible to quantify the number of home invasions...
...that are never attempted simply because of the possibility that the homeowners are armed, we'll never likely know for sure.
But we do know that home invasions do rise in countries that have outlawed guns.

In actual fact, there are more recorded home invasions in the US per Capita than in Denmark, Sweden, Canada, and Germany combined, according to the statistics published for 2007 (most up to date I could find) for each of those countries. I might note that guns are outlawed or restricted in all of those countries.

...where gun ownership was outlawed. The situation become so embarrassing that the Home Office changed recording methodologies after 2000 to mask the fact.
International Crime Victimization Surveys of 1992 and 2000:
Violent crime rates were lower in the UK than the United States in 1992. (Rated in percent of those interviewed responding ''yes'' to being victimized.)
Burglary with entry: UK ??? 2.5% U.S. ??? 3.5%
Robbery: UK ??? .9% U.S. ??? 1.7%
Sexual assault of women: UK ??? .3% U.S. ??? 1.5%
Assault with force: UK ??? 1.1% U.S. ??? 2.2%
The 2000 survey combined the three violent crimes of robbery, rape, and assault into one category entitled ''Selected Contact Crime.'' Here is what they report (post-ban for UK.)

But you might also want to take into consideration the population per square mile of those other countries. Not to mention that in those other countries, like Denmark, have socialist structured government that either finds jobs for the jobless or pays them handsomely for unimployment insurance, which is why their taxes are so darned high. Plus their prison terms are so much harsher.
And then there's all the burglaries that go unreported over there. Also, only handguns are outlawed without special permits in Denmark, Canada and Germany. I've been to those countries.....
Either way, the U.S. is the only country that has something called the 2nd Amendment, and we really don't give a hoot how those other countries bind their citizens with gun restrictions. That's them, this is us, and I have guns to prove it...

Just take a look at the Armed Citizen stories in the American Rifleman magazine, it's riddled with stories of home burglaries where the burglar hauled ass when the owners pulled a gun, WITHOUT a shot fired. How do you think the home owners would have fared if they hadn't had a firearm? They would have become a statistic in a totally different category.

Should be very easy to carry for CCW holders
Seems a bit expensive for what you get, but I guess it's all about the small size and light weight. The muzzle blast on short barrels is usually formidable, so it won't be pleasant to shoot. This is definetly not a target gun. The ported barrel option would be advisable on the .45 version, otherwise recoil will be severe.

Seriously, you had to put the guy in a hood and put gloves on him to get the results you wanted and you think we didn't notice? Look for the real statistics, do not be misled by the opinions of the misguided. The statistics speak loudly and inconveniently to those who think that guns cause crime. But they don't want to accept the truth so they continue propagating their fantasy. Every gun owner should practice not only shooting but situational training. It is available nearly everywhere and would make an even bigger reduction in crime, rape and murder. Why not do some good for the country and your fellow citizens and report the truth ABC.

I won't debate politics and do not care about advertising, I'd have that, but not at the crazy price as I can get a full size weapon for that, and to be honest a 38 derringer, which is cheap, is as good close up, which is what the little weaons like that are for, when one is being mugged or cornered etc.
I protected myself with a .45 handgun and avoided being physically harmed. I am glad to have had it in-hand and ready to fire when I confronted 4 burglars at 3 AM. I am happy there were 9 rounds in the magazine. The burglars were not happy that I had it. Not at all, no, the criminals were certainly not pleased with me at all. Based on the number of burglars encountered at once and the level to which drugs can fortify the criminal's or addict's body against damage for the short time necessary to reach the home's defender or potential victims, I subsequently obtained a similarly powerful handgun with 15 rounds capacity. I would not like to run out of ammunition, that would be embarrassing. Burglars are not such harmless sneak thieves and won't always leave or be scared off. They are violent criminals on drugs who will do anything to avoid jail, really they behave more like blood-crazed zombies than anything else. Upon discovery, they may simply stand there and then suddently attack, or attack right away, or do nothing -keep working or stealing whatever. It's not worth the risk to be unprepared. They are very pitiful people but more dangerous than a grizzly bear. There is an imaginary line about 20 FT away. If the assailant is able to move inside that line, the defender may be injured before he has a chance to stop the attack. It's no good to have shot your assailant dead if he has stuck a knife in your gut on the way down. That is from a policeman.

A modern Derringer . A high build quality justifies the price the porting should make this easier to shoot , this is a "Get off me gun" a close range easy to conceal gun for the car or anyplace where size for use or keeping it hidden are most important it's amazing useful .

i am from michigan and i can strap on my 45. and not worry about a thing .i am sorry that most of you cant .becuse i will tell you when you are seen openly carying a wepon folks tend to stay off you land and dont even think this is the house i want to rob .it is called a non concelment law and 43 out 50 states have this law. if more fawlowed the the law there would be less crap going on because the bad guys would think twice
