The Wide Range of Subjects Here
While the debates concerning firearms are a seemingly endless set of pro and con terms, IMHO I rather enjoy Tuan's forays into firearms. It shows that Smart Planet is not above addressing a wider range of subjects than some Channels, Forums, Blogs and Discussion Groups who apparently have vested interests that shade their content. That sort of range will keep me coming back for the firearms content as well as all the rest, sort of nice to have a place that informs without trying to interject a singular point of view.
As to the subject of this article, overpriced though it may be, the current political climate has pushed that dollar sign button beyond what seems to be rationale, it is a solid chunk of self defense weaponry. I had the opportunity to handle one at a local gun show and its' weight would offset the recoil of even the .45 ACP chambering. The venting on the barrels also helps in the recoil aspect and keep them down for the second shot. Being a "Gun Crank" of the first water, I take a pair of snap caps in multiple calibers so that I could try the trigger and functioning of any hand guns that might pic my interests to most gun shows any more. While the advertised 10 pound trigger pull may seem a bit harsh, in reality the ball bearing design offsets that to a degree you would be surprised by. In a situation where you would be required to pull this out and use it for its' intended purpose, just like the noise level generated by any hand gun in a stressed environment such as that, you wouldn't even notice it.
The 9mm second caliber option would be a nice practice option but not one for defense purposes.
