Existing laws prevents the firing you speak of so any language about it in this law would be redundant and therefore dropped as not needed.

You are falling for a common tactic used by elected representatives opposed to something. They add language to a bill that is not needed just so they can point to sheepal and say -those meanies removed the protections.-
