Green Buildings in India
The idea has caught on, for some time now with boost given by India's Action Plan on Climate Change that has a number of missions for focussed work, which includes solar energy, increasing energy efficiencies in traditional fuels and green buildings for promoting water recycling, drawing energy from geothermal sources and solar sources. The private sector is leading the green buildings movement with good potential for the clean development mechanism under the UN Kyoto treaty. More recently, the government buildings have joined this movement. Whatever may happen in the international negotiations, the national initiatives around the world have already taken off actively.
