Your comment is a bit misleading. Rifing oil is done through a process called "distillation". When you distil crude oil, you get the distillate, such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, etc, and the precipitate, such as plastic, asphalt, etc. The business of oil companies is the distillate. For them, the precipitate is a waste material. All the items you mention are from the distillate. If they were not recycled by other industries, they'd end up in land fills.
The items you mention are precipitate, not distillate.
