Nice job David. Yes, state rebates for Solar and other renewables are depleted. But there is still the 30% federal tax credit for geothermal heat pumps. I've have always asked that same question, why isn't there a way to help people who really need to save money on their energy bills? It would be better than throwing a few hundred dollars at it like they do now with a program called LYHEAP. I think this year they are giving folks $100. Whoopee! What most people don't realize is that even if they take out a loan for geothermal energy they would most likely find the cost of the monthly payment combined with their new lower energy bill would still be less than if they stayed with their current system.I'm re-posting your article at https://www.facebook.com/geothermalguy

Installation costs from $10k to $18k for a "normal" house. If someone is spending $400 a month, five months a year, for heating oil then you're looking at a 5 to 9 year payback. After that heating costs will be minimal. And you'll be protected from rising oil prices.Same thing holds for someone paying major bucks for AC during the hot season.
